They are all unique (except Ryou and Fuu who seem like the same person :P). The OP songs of Sketchbook were so good that i decided not to skip the opening sequence (i usually do).ĩ for character - THERE ARE TALKING CATS HERE !! Yes, that's right, talking cats.Īnyways, this one is rated so high because the variety of characters in the art club is rather wide. are made by Makino Yui, the same voice actress who made the OP songs for Aria. Adding that to a bunch of students' everyday life is hard.ĩ for art because i loved it. It's easier to add those mini-stories to Aria because of it's sci-fi elements. While Aria the Natural had a different story every episode, this one has none. I simply do not know what to say.ġ for story as it had no story. The same was when i was trying to write a review for Aria. Ok, by now i've been thinking about what to write for about 30 minutes already. To 'Not Helpful' voters (and you 'Helpful' voters too): Feedback greatly appreciated =) Since it's a slice of life anime, don't expect a lot of character development, but the varied and colorful cast may cover enough up for this since it's just a 13-episode series.Īll in all, there's nothing spectacular about the series, but if you watch it at the right time (when you need some relaxation), you'll probably enjoy it anyway. I loved the characters though, and they're very colorful. The voice acting is great, too, and they manage to keep the calm tone of the series in their voice acting. ![]() I'll keep them for times I'll need something calming to listen to. The first OP theme is very good though, and the same goes for the ED. It fits right in with the calm mood of the series, so that's a plus. I rarely notice the soundtrack, but when I do, it was some good piano pieces I heard. Soundtrack-wise, Sketchbook is fairly good. I think the best description of it is 'average'. The artwork isn't especially detailed or vivid, but it's not directly bad either. ![]() is very slow, but as I said earlier, it's perfect when you just need to relax, either because you've been very stressed or because you've watched some heavy anime earlier. Each episode is very tranquil, and the pacing Story-wise, it just follows an episode-by-episode formula, with each new episode bringing abotu an event totally unrelated to what happened in earlier episodes. And of course, the cats! If you like cats, that's a reason in itself to give Sketchbook a try. What catched me when I watched Sketchbook was how calm and quiet it was. ![]() ![]() The animation quality isn't anything outstanding either. It doesn't hve a lot of humor, and the story is, well, not a story. Thus begins the trio's journey of producing animation that will awe the world.įrom the brilliant mind of Masaaki Yuasa, Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na! is a love letter to animation, wildly creative in its approach, and a testament to the potential of the medium.Every once in a while, you just need to relax, chill and wach something easy. Sensing a money-making opportunity, Kanamori suggests that they start an animation club, which they disguise as a motion picture club since the school already has an anime club. Whereas Asakusa is interested in backgrounds and settings, Misuzaki loves drawing the human form. The pair are stark opposites, with Asakusa's childlike wonder contrasted by Kanamori's calculated approach to life.Īfter a chance encounter where the two "save" the young model Tsubame Misuzaki from her overprotective bodyguard, a connection instantly sparks between Asakusa and Misuzaki, as both share an intense passion for art and animation. She is only brought back to reality by her best friend Sayaka Kanamori. Even the simple act of doodling on a wall evolves into an emergency repair on the outer hull of her spaceship. Always having her nose in a sketchbook, Asakusa draws detailed landscapes and backgrounds of both the world around her and the one within her boundless imagination. Midori Asakusa sees the world a bit differently.
